Job Description: Power Platform & Cloud Systems Developer
Position Purpose
The Power Platform & Cloud Systems Developer is responsible for the end-to-end architecture, development, and administration of the Company’s digital ecosystem. This role is tasked with replacing manual processes with automated solutions, managing the organizational data layer in Dataverse, and extending platform capabilities through Azure integration.
Core Responsibilities
A. Power Platform Development
· Power Apps: Architect, develop, and test high-performance Canvas and Model-driven applications. Ensure responsive design and seamless user experience (UX) across mobile and desktop interfaces.
· Power Automate: Design enterprise-grade cloud flows, business process flows, and Desktop RPA to automate complex, multi-step business logic and cross-departmental approvals.
· Power BI: Build and maintain the company’s analytical layer. This includes data modeling (DAX), creating interactive dashboards, and ensuring real-time data accuracy for executive reporting.
· Power Pages: Design and manage secure, external-facing web portals for clients or vendors, ensuring proper authentication and data synchronization.
B. Data Architecture & Dataverse
· Data Modeling: Act as the primary architect for the Dataverse environment, managing complex relational schemas, table relationships, and environment variables.
· Security Logic: Implement and audit granular security models, including Business Units, Security Roles, and Column-level security.
· Logic Enforcement: Develop server-side logic using Dataverse business rules, calculated fields, and synchronous/asynchronous plugins.
C. Azure & Pro-Code Integration
· Cloud Extensibility: Extend Power Platform capabilities using Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Web Jobs.
· API Management: Develop and maintain custom connectors to integrate the Power Platform with third-party APIs and internal Azure SQL databases.
· Storage Management: Manage large-scale data storage strategies utilizing Azure Blob Storage or Azure Data Lake to optimize Dataverse capacity.
D. Governance, ALM & DevOps
· Lifecycle Management (ALM): Manage the movement of solutions between Development, UAT, and Production environments using Azure DevOps or Power Platform Pipelines.
· System Governance: Establish and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and monitor environment health through the Power Platform Admin Center.
· AI Implementation: Deploy and manage AI Builder models and Microsoft Copilot Studio (Chatbots) to enhance organizational automation.
Technical Standards & Documentation
· Documentation: The Employee shall maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), API documentation, and workflow logic maps.
· Best Practices: All development must adhere to Microsoft “Center of Excellence” (CoE) standards to ensure scalability and minimize technical debt.
Intellectual Property & Confidentiality
· Work for Hire: All applications, code, scripts, flows, dashboards, and data architectures created by the Employee during the term of employment are considered “work made for hire” and shall remain the exclusive property of the Company.
· Data Security: The Employee is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of all proprietary company data accessed via Dataverse and Azure.
Reporting Line & Evaluation
· Reporting: This position reports to: [Insert Manager Title/Department].
· Performance Metrics: Success will be measured by system uptime, the reduction of manual processing hours, data integrity within Power BI, and the timely delivery of development milestones.
